Abstract : The global financial sector has experienced unprecedented disruptions over the past few years due to the combined effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, geopolitical conflicts, rapid technological advancements, and evolving socio-economic conditions. Among these, the COVID-19 pandemic had a profound impact on financial markets by creating uncertainty, disrupting business operations, and influencing investor sentiment across the world. This study examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the stock price performance of Wells Fargo, one of the leading banking and financial services companies in the United States. The study utilizes secondary data comprising historical stock prices of Wells Fargo collected for the pre-COVID and during-COVID periods. Statistical analysis was conducted using the independent sample t-test to determine whether there was a significant difference in stock prices before and during the pandemic. The results indicate that the COVID-19 pandemic had a statistically significant negative impact on the stock price of Wells Fargo, reflecting reduced investor confidence, increased market volatility, and the adverse effects of economic slowdown on the banking sector. The findings highlight the vulnerability of financial institutions to global crises and emphasize the need for stronger risk management practices, digital transformation, and business continuity planning. The study further suggests that financial organizations should adopt diversified, sustainable, and resilient business models capable of withstanding future economic shocks and external uncertainties. Strengthening technological capabilities, improving operational flexibility, and enhancing strategic decision-making will be essential for ensuring long-term financial stability and maintaining investor confidence in an increasingly volatile global environment.
