Abstract : Social media platforms, particularly Instagram, have fundamentally transformed marketing strategies in India, significantly influencing youth buying behavior. This paper examines how Instagram advertisements from food delivery brand Zomato drive purchase decisions among urban youth aged 18-35. Through secondary data analysis from 2024-2026 academic studies and real-world campaign metrics, findings reveal that Instagram ads achieve 70-96% influence on brand awareness, engagement, and app usage primarily through relatable content and influencer partnerships. The study identifies key mechanisms including visual appeal, influencer trust, and FOMO-driven urgency. Zomato’s meme-based campaigns exemplify successful strategies, achieving 81% engagement rates and 68% increase in app downloads. Challenges include ad fatigue and regulatory compliance. Recommendations emphasize authentic nano-influencer partnerships and content diversification for sustained brand impact. This research provides actionable insights for marketing professionals targeting India’s digital-native youth demographic.
