Abstract : This study explores how Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), a major player in India’s FMCG sector, is integrating eco-friendly practices into its supply chain while navigating the challenges of operational costs. With growing environmental concerns and consumer demand for sustainability, HUL has initiated multiple green strategies like renewable energy use, sustainable sourcing, and waste
reduction. While these actions have improved brand image and efficiency, they come with high upfront costs that raise questions about long-term financial sustainability. The study aims to assess whether the environmental and reputational benefits outweigh the economic burdens, especially in a price-sensitive market like India. Using secondary data and a qualitative approach, it evaluates how HUL balances ecological responsibility with business performance.

Keywords: Sustainable Supply Chain, Operational Costs, Supply Chain Optimization, Environmental Responsibility.
