Abstract : This paper examines consumer preferences in buying electric vehicles(EVs) in Gujarat, India, based on secondary data sources. As environmental concerns and policy support increase, EV adoption is picking up pace. The research seeks to determine the most significant drivers of consumer decisions in the state, such as price responsiveness, government incentives, green awareness, and availability of infrastructure. The article combines data from government reports, trade publications, and scholarly literature to analyze trends and patterns. Results indicate that although environmental advantages and operating expenses entice consumers, technical drawbacks like high up-front cost and scarcity of charging points remain. The research offers suggestions to stakeholders for improving EV adoption in Gujarat.
